Welcome to Cold Springs Trout Farm. We are a sixth-generation trout farm. We strive to provide the highest-quality trout eggs available, and have been selectively breeding for a century. We sell rainbow, brook, brown, and tiger trout eggs. We offer reproducing and sterile options. Pricing and more information is located below.
Rainbow Trout eggs become available in the fall and typically run until April. Brook, Brown, Rainbow (Kamloop, Steelhead, Yellow and/or Blue) and Tiger Trout eggs are typically available during November to January. These seasons can change with our environmental conditions, but are generally when the eggs come available. For all egg orders, there is a minimum purchase order of $250.00.

Rainbow Trout Eggs
Available September-March. Limited quantity eggs from April- August. We have selectively bred our own strain since 1924, and in the early 1990’s, we began a program to develop the fastest growing strain possible. Our best fish have been crossed with different strains of Kamloop Rainbow trout, and have come up with a strain that is genetically diverse and grows at a remarkable rate. This strain is available September-December. Our January -March eggs do not have as much Kamloop genetics in them, but are equal with most strains on the market.

Brook Trout Eggs
Available November-December. Our original strain came from two different sources in the New York area back in the 1980’s. We have selectively bred the fastest growing fish each year. These fish average about 10 inches in their first year, and by the third year, they average about 18 inches and 3+ lbs.

Brown Trout Eggs
Available November-January. In 2001, we brought in 2 different strains of Brown Trout, and we have begun a selective breeding program with these fish as well.

Tiger Trout Eggs
Available November-December. These fish are a triploid hybrid between a brook trout and a brown trout.

Our Triploid eggs are all produced by pressure induction.
To ensure quantity and delivery, please order at least 2 months in advance.
We may be able to accommodate orders under 15,000 eggs with 3 weeks notice.
Separate costs include box and overnight shipping.
Before eggs are shipped, you will need to acquire a Fish Import Permit from your local Fish & Game Department. They will need a copy of our most recent Health Permits. These permits are located below. For any other information, please contact us at [email protected].
